Help: Requirements: To run many of the games on this site you'll need a web browser capable of running Java. To run the Flash games you'll need the Flash plug-in installed. The two most recommended browsers are Internet Explorer and Firefox. Though other web browsers such as Chrome, Netscape, and Opera are supported. Both IE and Netscape should be version 4.0 or later. It's also recommended that you use an 800x600 screen resolution or higher and 16 bit color or better when visiting this site. To download the latest Java plug-in click here. To download the latest Flash player click here. I use WebTV. Can I play the games here? Some of them. Specifically, only the ones under the Javascript games category. All the other games are Java based. And to date, the developers of WebTV have not provided support for Java applets. What is the difference between Java and Javascript? The Java programs here are applets (mini-applications) which run in their own window. Javascript is a simpler scripting language which does not run in it's own window. The javascript code is instead imbedded within the web page itself and interpreted by the web browser you use to explore the world wide web. I use AOL and am experiencing problems running the games. Try disabling the "Use Compressed Graphics" option under AOL's preferences. I'm using a Java capable web browser, but the games aren't running at all! This should redirect your browser's focus to the game itself. Keep in mind these games take time to download. Most won't start immediately. However they'll generally load faster with later visits once stored in your browser's cache file(s). ![]() Back |
